The concert is now SOLD OUT.
A concert in aid of Parkinson’d UK is being held in the Village Hall featuring Henry Priestman & The Men of a Certain Age plus supporting guests on 14th October 2018. I appreciate this is months away but thought it was useful to put down a marker for your diary. Our village does a lot to support this worthy cause and I am sure to will be a great evening of musical entertainment. Once again this annual concert is being organised by Andy Mowforth and further details are shown on the poster below.
I have entered the event on the Walkington blog Events Calendar and will give a gentle reminder later nearer the date.
Henry has been in the music business for over 40 years and whilst you may not be familiar with the name you will have surely have heard of some of the bands he has played with and his music. He played in the band Yachts and then more famously with The Christians. Yachts supported The Sex Pistols in 1977 and The Who on their European Tour in 1979.
In 2009 Henry Priestman (having not sung since 1981) reinvented himself as a singer-songwriter, and released his debut solo CD “The Chronicles of Modern Life” to critical acclaim. Henry, being a musician, who likes to take his time brought out his next album in 2014 called “The Last Mad Surge of Youth”, which showered Henry with the best reviews he’s had in his many years of releasing albums.
This is a must see concert and such a great cause as well.
