Once again the blog is pleased to announced this year’s annual art exhibition organised by Mary Wells, the Beverley based artist. This event is now well established in the Walkington Calendar and each year proves to be hugely popular and a great fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK and Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The exhibition, now in its fifth year, is a great showcase for our local artists who meet weekly in the Walkington Methodist Church Hall; they go under the collective name of DAPPA’s (Drawing and Painting for Pleasure Artists). The artistic theme for this year is ‘Inspiration’ and all the details are on the poster.

It may be of interest to some of our older bloggers, to say that the first Walkington Art Exhibition, took place in the Village Hall over the Easter Weekend, of 1971; but that post is perhaps for another day.
