Our annual Carol Services and the visits of Father Christmas to the pond will take place on Tuesday 17th and Saturday 21st December at 7.00pm. As Always the magnificent Byass steam organ will be there providing the music for the carols followed by “you know who” giving sweets to all the children. You can be assured of a warm “Walkington Welcome” to one and all and we look forward to seeing the many happy smiling faces of the children as they meet Santa.

As usual we particularly look forward to the many people who bring their children in the same way that their own parents did when they were young. We also welcome those who have moved away from the village but return to visit family or friends at this wonderful time of the year. We will be moving amongst you with collection tins and any donation is most welcome. This is the only public opportunity we have to raise funds and we rely on your generosity which enables us to pay for the feed for the ducks and the upkeep of the Christmas lights of which we are justifiably proud.

“Strictly” fans – the final will be on Saturday 14th December so no excuses!! Could I ask anyone who normally parks at the West end of the pond if they could help us by keeping that area clear between 6pm and 9pm on the two nights leaving room for the steam engine? Thank-you in advance for your cooperation. Our thanks to the clergy who lead the carols on the two nights, Graham from the Barrel and the Pantomime Players for their generous donations and also Robin Taylor for the loan of the PA system.
