The Eastern Area Planning Sub-Committee met on Monday afternoon (20th) to discuss a number of planning applications including the application by Duchy Homes to build 31 homes at 40 Little Weighton Road in Walkington.
The official recommendation to the Sub-Committee was that the application be deferred for further consideration of two issues:
1) to secure the on-site affordable housing provision, and
2) the off-site contribution towards open space provision.
Once these issues were agreed then the Director of Planning and Economic Regeneration would be authorised to approve the planning application and the development would be able to proceed.
However, the view was taken by the committee members, that as they were newly elected councillors, they understandably wanted to carry out a site visit before a decision could me made.
This was agreed and the planning application by Duchy Homes would return to the next meeting on 10th June 2019.
