HAPPY BIRTHDAY to walkington-life – four years old today. Woweee! four years ago, on the 8th December 2014, the blog was first published and blogging was introduced to the village.
What a successful fourth year it’s been with more and more people reading the blog. We’ve tried to report on, as well as promote, the events happening in the village, which may have touched the lives of many of us, and in doing so, we’ve had lots of fun along the way. Some of our posts have looked back to earlier times in Walkington and hopefully these shed light on how the village has developed and who we are today.
I would like send a huge thank you to all of those villagers who have made a contribution to the success of the blog by writing posts, making comments, sending in recipes and making us all laugh with the “Funny But True” stories. Thank you all! And then, thanks to our readers who have been with us for the last four years and to our new readers who have only recently discovered the blog.
The village blog – walkington-life – aims to encourage villagers of all ages to become bloggers and write your own thing for the blog; do you have a short story or a poem in the back of your mind, a funny true story, a hobby, or a club or society to promote on the Events Calendar.
You never know you might actually enjoy the blogging experience. If you would like to have a go just attach your thoughts to an email and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll do the rest.
A Merry Christmas from walkington-life
