We haven’t had a recipe submitted for sometime. This one has been posted by Carol and is a strong family favourite. The salad would make a fine accompaniment to a Sunday roast or as part of another salad.


Broccoli and Smoked Bacon Salad

Serves: 4


  • 6oz Broccoli (raw) - cut into small pieces.
  • 4oz Red onion - finely diced
  • 1 3/4oz Cheese - grated
  • Smoked bacon - 7 rashers well cooked until crispy and then break up.
  • 7 oz (by weight) - Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp - white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp castor sugar (to taste)


  1. The method is simplicity itself. Mix all the ingredients and enjoy!
