In June 2017,  communities up and down the country, came together on the anniversary of Jo Cox’s murder to celebrate everything we have in common, by holding street parties and other community events.

Many people expressed the view that this should not be a one off event and so it’s taking place again this year over  the weekend of 22nd-24th June, which would have been Jo’s 44th birthday.

There will be hundreds of events taking place across the UK and the details of the Walkington event are set out below.

Walkington Picnic and Family Fun.
Saturday 23rd  June 12:30 pm – 6 pm
at Walkington Playing Fields.

This year we’ll be incorporating Sports Day – so we’ll be having all the races we all love, including:

  • Egg and Spoon
  • Sack Race
  • Dad’s Race
  • Mile

We’ll also have a Barbecue, Bouncy Castle, Dads and Kids Football and more…Bring a picnic and join the fun.
