Walkington Bowls Club.

The members of the grounds team have been working extremely hard over the last few weeks preparing the green and surrounding area for the 2021 season. The club hope to be able to open the green from the middle to end of April, but at present we are still waiting on guidance from Bowls England who are the national body which oversees outdoor bowling. They will offer guidance on  the procedures we need to have in place to allow members to use the facilities.

The Driffield League have taken the decision to start fixtures from the middle of May which is several weeks later than normal, Walkington intends to continue to enter three teams in the Wednesday afternoon league and three in the evening leagues. The Hull and District Ladies also hope to restart competitions in June.

For anyone new to the village who would like to play we of course welcome new members at any time. Social bowls usually takes place on a Monday and Thursday afternoon. In May we intend to organise a Bowls Weekend, (the dates are the Bank Holiday weekend Friday 28th to Monday 31st) when anyone can come along and try the game either solo, with a partner, or with family members, free of charge, more details on this one nearer the time.

If you require any further details at this time please contact John Bridges on 07935303555 or Pam Hardy on 01482 887768
