The photograph shows the Rev David Messer and churchwarden Alison Penton receiving a bound edition of the book ‘Walkington Remembers’ from authors Christine Elston and Steve Dowler.  The book includes an account of each of the men on the Walkington War Memorial which now incorporates photographs of the very moving silhouettes which were instigated by Steve Thorp.

It  will soon be on display in all Hallows Church in a new glass topped cabinet which is currently being made by villager Rick Moore. This will ensure that the record is preserved and each man will be remembered on the day that he died as the pages are turned when each date  is reached. The leather- bound book has been hand made by Glenn Malkin of Signature Bindings of Hornsea and has been paid for by the Walkington Parish Council.

This will be a permanent reminder that the men from Walkington who gave their lives in defence of this country have not been forgotten by this current generation of Walkingtonians.
